CPST Case Manager needed to work with severely emotionally disturbed children & their families.  CPST is a face-to-face intervention with the consumer present; however, family or other collaterals may be involved.  The majority of CPST contacts must occur in community locations where the person lives, works, attends school, and/or socializes.

Position Requirements:

*Bachelor's degree in mental health field preferred and/or equivalent experience.

*Experience providing services in a community based setting with knowledge of community resources is preferred.  

*Must possess ability to work independently; as well as, collaboratively. 

*Clear & effective communication skills required to provide service to families & community stakeholders. 

*People who are willing to transport children in their own vehicle within Shawnee County.

*Valid driver’s license, up to date car insurance, and a reliable vehicle.

*Ability to pass a background and drug test.

* People who are reliable and can be counted on by the children. 

* People who are organized and able to manage difficult schedules and documentation.  

* People who are able to manage stressful situations and behaviors.

Family Service & Guidance Center, a leader in children's behavioral healthcare, is seeking a passionate professional to lead our Outpatient Clinical Services Team.

The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for the program development and implementation of the outpatient clinical services which includes the school-based services model.   This position will have extensive supervisory responsibility and programs oversight. The Director of Outpatient Services serves as a member of the leadership team.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees day-to-day clinical operations of the outpatient clinical staff which includes staff clinicians, crisis services clinicians and school-based services.
  • Provide clinical oversight of clinical cases and direct treatment among multiple Family Service & Guidance Center providers. Aids in shaping the treatment philosophy and goals of the agency in line with best clinical practices.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision and direction to the clinical team leaders and coordinators.
  • Leads in the design/program development, implementation and management of behavioral health services within public and private schools.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for public and private schools seeking services and information about pediatric behavioral health.
  • Communicates and coordinates with school staff to provide information about Family Service & Guidance Center’s services and aids in assessing future services. Ensures there is a process established to provide information, referral and direct assistance to schools and families seeking behavioral health services.
  • Assist with managed care contracting.
  • Participates in the utilization management (UM) process and promotes the use of clinical data driven decision-making.
  • Works to ensure appropriate levels of care (LOC) assignment and applicable LOC treatment protocol are followed.
  • Follow program policies/procedures and evaluate mechanisms to ensure consistency with the regulatory laws and standards.
  • Active participation and input into agency operations via membership on the agency leadership team.
  • Participates in the development and carrying out of the agency strategic plan.
  • Participate in the acquisition of and administering of any grants or special projects as deemed appropriate.
  • Works proactively to develop clinical programming to meet community needs.
  • Be familiar in the philosophy of WrapAround Services both for the purpose of assessing needs and delivering services.
  • Manage and assure the department operates within the parameters of its annual budget.
  • Engage in activities designed to give his/her program high visibility in the community.
  • Respect and demonstrate ability to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Act as an ambassador of Family Service & Guidance Center in the community setting. This may include doing public educational and informational presentations.
  • Supports and actively promotes the vision and mission of Family Service & Guidance Center and the philosophy of the strengths perspective.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure:

  • Master’s degree in a recognized mental health discipline
  • Valid advanced license to practice in the state of Kansas
  • Active membership in professional organizations strongly encouraged

Experience:

  • Must have 10+ years’ experience working with children and families.
  • At least 5 years of experience in senior leadership role
  • Experience managing large department of clinical staff required
  • Experience serving as a community liaison required
  • Experience working with managed care companies preferred
  • Experience managing school based staff preferred
  • Passion and desire to work with children and adolescents

 JOB SUMMARY:              

This position will serve in a dual role capacity providing parent support services and wraparound facilitation services. Position provides training and support necessary to ensure engagement and active participation of the family in the treatment process. Position also provides wraparound services to the severely emotionally disordered clients (children/youth) to assist them in resolving or minimizing the effects of the mental and emotional impairment to enhance independent functioning and decrease institutionalization. Wraparound services are provided under a treatment plan approved by a psychiatrist or physician skilled in the treatment of mental disorders and are for children/youth with (SED) severely emotionally disorders that are also on the SED Waiver program. The position will work in the office and community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Position will work in one or both areas based on client/agency needs.

Parent Support:

  1. Provides training to family members to increase their ability to provide a safe and supportive environment for the client (children/youth).
  2. Leads family support groups and individual sessions which provide support, training and education for family members regarding living with a child with mental illness.
  3. Develops and enhances family member problem-solving skills, coping mechanisms, and strategies for behavior management.
  4. Assists family members in understanding the (SED) Severely Emotionally Disordered Waiver process.
  5. Trains family members on medication, diagnosis, interpreting choice of providers and understanding policies and procedures of Family Service & Guidance Center.
  6. Completes documentation in a timely fashion.

Wraparound Facilitation:

  1. Forms the Wraparound Team which consists of participant’s family, extended family, and other community members involved in the client’s daily life. Will schedule and facilitate the Wraparound meeting and assist with the development of the Plan of Care by guiding the team through assessment of the client’s strengths and needs, identification of objectives, action steps, needed services and crisis planning.
  2. Reassembles the Wraparound Team when subsequent Plan of Care review and revisions are needed, at minimum every 90 days and yearly for the annual Plan of Care review. Will contact the client’s family and/or Wraparound Team members at least monthly to ensure Plan of Care addresses the client’s ongoing needs.
  3. Builds collaboration and ongoing coordination among the family, caretakers, service providers and other formal and informal community resources identified by the family. Promotes flexibility to ensure appropriate and effective service delivery to the client and their family.
  4. Ensures all SED Waiver guidelines and rules are followed (Medicaid compliance).
  5. Completes clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes, utilization reviews, etc.) in a timely fashion. Stays informed of agency developments by reading memorandums and other agency related written communications.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

The successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, including excellent listening skills.  This position must be able to maintain a high level of organization and time management. Position also must demonstrate flexibility, collaboration/coordination and thorough documentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office with ability to learn other software programs as necessary.    

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in human services field and experience working with children with serious emotional disorders preferred or high school diploma or associate’s degree with equivalent experience required. Must have valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, a good driving record and a reliable vehicle.

 Family Service Guidance Center is seeking an Administrative Floater to join our Administrative Services team.  Position will work in Reception and Admissions.  Duties include:  answering the phone, checking in clients, collecting office co-pays, scheduling appointments, collecting demographic data and entering information into a computer system, receiving initial request for services and coordinating access to services, conducting insurance verifications, and assisting staff and visitors with customer service needs.  The data collection services of this position directly impact medical records, accounts receivable, clinical services and other departments within the agency.  This role is often the first impression of customer service for the agency. 

Requirements:  H.S. Diploma or equivalent, excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service experience, flexibility, organizational and time management skills.  Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.  Excellent customer service skills are required.  

Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm

Family Service & Guidance Center is currently seeking part-time Attendant Care Providers.  Individuals 18 years of age & older & at least 3 years older than the consumer are needed to work one to one with Severely Emotionally Disturbed Children ages 5-17 in a variety of community settings.  Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent & a combination of 2 years of documented experience & post-secondary education in a human services-related field. A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, a reliable vehicle and a good motor vehicle driving record are required.  Must successfully pass background checks including motor vehicle screen.  

 

Hours:  40 hours per week, hours will fall primarily between 7:30am-5:30pm, some flexibility to adjust schedule to meet client needs is required.

Applicants must have a high school diploma & a combination of 2 years of documented experience & post-secondary education in a human services-related field. A good driving record, proof of insurance & reliable transportation is necessary to complete job duties. Crisis House is staffed 24/7. Position is hourly, on-call. Part-time on-call staff must be available to work a minimum of 16 hours per week.
