Crago receives partnership award from USD 501

 

old photo of crago social mediaFamily Service & Guidance Center is proud to announce that Nancy Crago, LSCSW, has received a 2017 Possibilities in Action Partner Award from USD 501, Topeka Public Schools.

Crago, FSGC’s Director of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, was honored for her years of collaborative service to the district and her extraordinary dedication to improving mental health outcomes for students in Topeka Public Schools. She has been with FSGC for 34 years.

“I have always been passionate about working with the school district to make sure the mental health needs of children are being met in that environment,” Crago said. “It was an honor to have that work recognized.”

Crago has been a consultant and colleague to educators and administrators across the district in addition to expanding FSGC’s Youth Development Program and other specialized groups into various USD 501 schools. She also serves on the district’s Mental Health Team.

The USD 501 School Psychology Department chooses Possibilities in Action Partner Award winners during School Psychology Week each year. Crago one of six award recipients recognized at the Thursday, November 16, USD 501 Board of Education meeting. She was the only honoree who is not an employee of the district.

Award winners possess extraordinary personal or professional dedication to improving outcomes for students; outstanding professional functioning and effectiveness; effective advocacy for public policy that supports needed services for children and families; commitment to effective collaboration with school psychologists and other student services staff; and long-term dedication to advocacy on behalf of individual students.

The Possibilities in Action Partner Program is part of the National Association of School Psychologists’ ongoing effort to help school psychologists promote children’s success in school and life, to improve collaboration within the school community and to help highlight the education community’s exceptional efforts to educate and support the development of all children.
