Peer Support in Topeka

Peer Support

You’re not alone.

It’s easy for a young adult with a mental health challenge or substance use disorder to feel like no one understands what they’re going through. That’s why FSGC Peer Support is here.

Peer Support is designed for people ages 16-22. It includes group activities and opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences and to talk about topics like mental health, relationships and independent living skills. Experts from the community will present on important topics like finding affordable housing and employment.

  • Clear up myths about mental health and substance use problems
  • Give advice on helping yourself
  • Connect people with tools and resources
  • Help you figure out your goals and make a plan to reach them

Step2 out of 2 steps

Benefits of Peer Support include:

  • Higher self-esteem
  • Less substance use and depression
